Mint museums was interesting, you don't think of blogs as having pictures.
Wookiepediea was interesting to see the level of fanaticism.
In libraries, I think local studies blogs would work, as well as book favourites blogs.
But, the ones I like to see would be community info blogs about restaurants and services in your area.

What about a local history Wiki, where entries were a little more ordered and able to be added to and edited as information developed?
